Introduction

Hatching Point provides QuickScanPDF+ to capture document pages, adjust their appearance, and create PDFs. Scanning and image processing happen on your device. Optional usage analytics and advertising measurement are separate from document processing.

Your scans and files

Document images, page adjustments, PDFs, names, tags, local profile details and preferences are stored in the app’s local database and files. We do not upload your scans or document text to an AI service. Device backups may include local app data.

Camera permission is used for scanning. PDF creation and image cleanup happen locally. When you choose a share or export destination, iOS sends the selected file to that destination under its own settings and policies. The recipient may be another app, a device folder, or a cloud provider you choose.

Local reminders require notification permission. The practice scan shown on devices without document-camera support is built-in sample content.

Optional usage analytics

Usage analytics are off until you choose to share. You can decline and change your choice in Privacy choices during onboarding, before purchase, or in Settings. Your analytics choice does not change scanning, free watermarked export, or subscription access.

If enabled, Point uses PostHog for bounded app lifecycle, onboarding steps, scan availability and stages, saved page edits, PDF creation with saved export history, paywall interactions and purchase outcomes. Events use an anonymous installation identifier plus app/version/platform context.

Analytics exclude document images and text, filenames, tags, page counts, profile names and email, locations, transaction identifiers and raw error messages. Screen recording, session replay and automatic content capture are disabled.

Withdrawing consent stops future product analytics and clears pending local events. It does not retroactively erase already received events. Apple’s advertising-tracking permission is separate.

Advertising measurement

With Apple tracking authorization, Meta and TikTok may receive app activity, advertising/device identifiers, and purchase information to measure and improve advertising. Denying tracking does not require enabling product analytics and does not block the app’s features. You can change Apple tracking permission in iOS Settings. SDK diagnostics may include crash or other diagnostic information.

Subscriptions, support and app discovery

Apple processes purchases and payment details. QuickScanPDF+ reads products and entitlement status; Hatching Point does not receive your payment-card data. Apple determines eligibility for introductory offers.

When you submit feedback, your message, optional email address and app/device context go to Point’s support service on Convex. Include only information you want to send. Your locally stored profile is not an analytics identity.

The More Apps area requests public App Store information from Apple. Network services receive IP addresses and request metadata needed to operate and secure their services.

Your controls and retention

Manage usage sharing in Privacy choices and camera, notifications and tracking permissions in iOS Settings. The app offers local deletion controls; deleting an item does not erase copies you exported or backups.

Uninstalling removes the local app container. Information sent through feedback or to another destination is subject to the recipient’s retention. We retain service data as needed to provide, support and secure the service and meet legal requirements.

Children and updates

QuickScanPDF+ is not directed at children under 13. We reflect changes to this policy in the updated date.

Optional advertising measurement

Some Hatching Point apps include Meta's SDK in a disabled state. It initializes only when measurement is enabled for that app and you authorize tracking through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt. When enabled, device identifiers, product interactions, and verified purchase event details such as value and currency may be shared with Meta for advertising measurement and analytics. Payment-card details are never shared. You can deny the request or revoke permission later in iOS Settings.
