Introduction

Hatching Point ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use the Patternize mobile application.

Information We Collect

• Optional Usage Analytics: If you enable usage analytics, we collect feature events, session and app-version information, and an anonymous analytics identifier through PostHog. This analytics stream does not include your photos, pattern text, prompts, support messages, or advertising identifier. Usage analytics is off until you choose to enable it.
• Purchase Information: Subscription status (processed by Apple, we don't see payment details)
• AI Features: Photos and instructions you choose to submit are transmitted to our backend and AI service providers to generate patterns. The app separately explains this sharing before you use the AI feature.
• Support: If you contact us or send feedback, we receive the message, any contact information you provide, and diagnostic information included with your request.
• Advertising Measurement: When enabled for the app and authorized through Apple’s tracking permission, Meta and TikTok may receive device identifiers, app interactions, and purchase events for advertising attribution and measurement. These attribution integrations remain off without authorization.

How We Use Your Information

• Provide and improve app functionality
• Process your subscription
• Respond to support requests
• Analyze optional usage events to improve features when you enable analytics
• Measure advertising results when separately authorized

Third-Party Services

• Apple: App Store handles purchases and subscriptions. Saved patterns and preferences use on-device storage.
• PostHog: Processes optional usage analytics for product improvement. Our Point analytics service uses these events to produce aggregate product reports.
• Convex and OpenAI: Our backend and AI processing services handle requests you submit for AI-powered features.
• Meta and TikTok: Provide advertising attribution and measurement only when the integration is enabled and Apple’s tracking permission is authorized.

Data Storage and Security

• On-device and service storage: Saved patterns and preferences are stored on your device. AI requests, support information, and permitted analytics also pass through the services described above; the app is not entirely offline.
• Retention: Service data is retained as needed to provide the requested features, support, security, and analytics, subject to applicable provider retention practices and legal requirements. Turning analytics off stops future optional analytics collection; it does not automatically delete previously collected events.
• Security: We use HTTPS/TLS for service requests and access controls for backend services. No storage or transmission system can guarantee absolute security.

Your Rights

• Access: View all data stored in the app
• Delete: Remove your data at any time
• Cancel: Cancel subscription through App Store
• Usage choices: Continue from the first privacy screen with usage analytics off, or turn it on voluntarily. Change this choice using Privacy Choices in Settings or on the subscription screen. A subscription is not required to change it.
• Tracking: The app’s usage choice does not grant Apple tracking permission. Allow or deny tracking in Apple’s separate prompt, and change it in iOS Settings. Declining either optional choice does not prevent you from continuing onboarding.
• Requests: Contact us to request access to or deletion of service-held information. We may need information to locate your records; anonymous analytics may not be identifiable as yours.

Children's Privacy

Patternize is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
