1. Introduction
LevelUp+ ("we," "our," or "us") operates the LevelUp+ mobile application (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our Service. By using the Service, you consent to the data practices described in this policy.
2. Information We Collect
We collect:
- Profile Information: Name and email (optional) provided during setup
- Voice Recordings: Audio of daily reflections, stored locally on device
- Transcripts: Text transcriptions via speech recognition
- Usage Data: App interaction data, timestamps, performance data
- Insights Data: AI-generated analysis of reflections
We do NOT collect: precise location, contacts, browsing history, or data from other apps.
3. How We Use Your Information
- Provide and maintain the Service
- Generate AI-powered insights
- Process subscriptions (via Apple)
- Improve user experience
- Comply with legal obligations
We do NOT sell, rent, or trade personal information.
4. Data Storage & Security
- Local Storage: Data stored on device using iOS secure storage
- iCloud Backup: May sync if user enables iCloud backup
- No Server Storage: We don't operate servers storing personal data. Note: Basic anonymized analytics or crash reporting may be collected by Apple or third-party services to improve app stability.
- Security: Industry-standard encryption in transit and at rest
5. Third-Party Services
- OpenAI: Text transcripts of your voice recordings are sent to OpenAI's API for AI analysis. We use OpenAI's API (not consumer ChatGPT), and have opted out of having your data used to train OpenAI's models. OpenAI processes this data according to their privacy policy at openai.com/privacy. Audio recordings are NOT sent to OpenAI—only text transcripts. OpenAI may retain data for up to 30 days for abuse monitoring per their API data usage policies.
- Apple: Payment processing via App Store
- Apple Speech Recognition: May process audio on Apple servers
We may disclose information if required by law.
6. International Data Transfers
Data may be transferred to the United States (where OpenAI operates). By using the Service, you consent to such transfers.
7. Data Retention
- Local Data: Until deleted via Settings or app uninstall
- Third-Party: Subject to OpenAI's retention policies
- Delete anytime: Settings > Data > Delete All Data
8. Your Privacy Rights
General Rights: Access, Deletion, Export (Pro), Correction, Objection
CCPA (California): We don't sell data; right to know and delete
GDPR (EU/EEA): Rights to access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection
9. Children's Privacy
LevelUp+ is not intended for users under 13 years of age (or 16 in EU/EEA). If you believe we have collected data from a child, please contact us at support@hatchingpoint.com.
10. Changes to Policy
Updates will be posted in-app and on this website with a new effective date. Continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
