Overview
Cloque is designed with privacy as a core principle. Your field documentation stays on YOUR device. We don't collect, store, or have access to your notes, recordings, location data, or case files.
What We DON'T Collect
- Your notes and transcriptions
- Your voice recordings
- Your location data or GPS coordinates
- Your case files or evidence tags
- Personal identifiers from your documentation
All content you create in Cloque is stored locally on your device using encrypted Core Data storage.
What We May Collect
1. Purchase Information
Subscription purchases are processed by Apple. We receive only anonymized purchase confirmations to verify your subscription status. We don't receive your payment details.
2. Anonymous Analytics (Optional)
We may collect anonymized, aggregated usage statistics to improve the app (e.g., which features are most used). This data cannot identify you or be linked to your content.
3. Crash Reports (Optional)
If you opt in, crash reports help us fix bugs. These contain technical information only, not your content.
Device Permissions
Cloque requests certain permissions for core functionality:
- Microphone: For voice-to-text recording. Audio is processed locally via Apple's Speech Recognition. We don't store or transmit recordings.
- Location: For automatic geolocation tagging. Coordinates are stored locally on your device only.
- Speech Recognition: For transcription. Apple processes speech locally or securely. See Apple's privacy policy for details.
You can deny or revoke any permission in iOS Settings. Some features may be limited without certain permissions.
Data Storage & Security
- All data stored locally using iOS Core Data with encryption
- Protected by your device's passcode/biometrics
- Data included in your iCloud/iTunes backups (if enabled)
- We cannot access your data remotely
Data Retention & Deletion
Your data exists only on your device. To delete:
- Delete individual notes/cases within the app
- Uninstall the app to remove all local data
- Manage iCloud backups separately in iOS Settings
We have no data to delete since we don't collect your content.
Third-Party Services
- Apple App Store: Processes payments and provides subscription management
- Apple Speech Recognition: Processes voice transcription (see Apple's privacy policy)
- Apple Location Services: Provides GPS coordinates (see Apple's privacy policy)
Children's Privacy
Cloque is intended for professional use by adults 18+. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Your Rights
Since your data is stored locally on your device:
- You have complete control over your data
- You can export your data from within the app
- You can delete your data at any time
- No data access requests needed—we don't have your data
International Users
Since data is stored locally on your device, there is no international data transfer by Hatching Point. Any data processing by Apple services is subject to Apple's policies.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy. Significant changes will be notified via app update notes. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
